Specific Professional Orientation:

Dr. Vladimir Milivojević is professionally oriented towards all aspects of clinical gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Milivojević particularly expresses interest in the areas of Helicobacter pylori infection, gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, celiac disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), disorders of intestinal microbiota (dysbiosis), and the treatment of patients with abnormalities in liver function tests (elevated transaminases), issues related to metabolic syndrome, and liver function disorders. Additionally, he emphasizes the significance of nutrition in gastroenterology.

A field of exceptional interest for him is gastrointestinal endoscopy. In addition to diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, Dr. Milivojević performs interventional and therapeutic procedures, including the removal of polyps from the stomach, duodenum, and colon, as well as the execution of the most complex endoscopic ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) procedures in both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects.

  2. Co-author of a poster presentation – UEGW Barcelona 2015-Poster of Excellence – Values of erythropoietin in the acute phase of chronic liver failure – preliminary data.
  3. Recipient of the UEGW scholarship for the best abstract for the year 2022.
  4. Recipient of the UEGW project scholarship for developing countries in 2020, aiming to organize the Congress of Young Gastroenterologists of Serbia (not held due to the COVID-19 epidemic).
  5. Award for the Best Poster Presentation – Fifth Serbian Gastroenterology Congress 2023 – Genetic basis of Helicobacter pylori resistance to clarithromycin and fluoroquinolones.
  6. Recognition on the occasion of marking 100 years of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, for outstanding contribution to the Faculty’s fight against COVID-19.
